Saluting Soldier is a monument honoring the immense sacrifices made by United States veterans to protect our freedoms and homeland. This piece embodies pride and honor. Shaffer originally sculpted the six foot statue for the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. This project holds deep personal significance for Shaffer, not only because of his pride in our country but also because family members and friends are laid to rest at this cemetery.
